The grand finale of Miss Universe Guatemala 2017 held last night concluded with the crowning of Isel Suñiga, Miss San Marcos, as the new Miss Universe Guatemala. The finale was held at Parque de la Industria, Guatemala City on August 20' 2017 with sixteen beauties sashaying the ramp.
She succeeds Miss Universe Guatemala 2016, Virginia Argueta, and will now represent the Guatemala in Miss Universe 2017 to be held later this year. The 22-year-old beauty was crowned by Paulette Samayoa, Miss Guatemala 2013.
" I feel very happy and excited. I still can't believe it. I thank all those who have always trusted me ", said the beautiful young woman after winning the crown.
After winning the title she also posted a thank you note on her FaceBook profile -
"To a day of completing the dream I always had since girl representing my beautiful San Marcos in miss universe Guatemala, I feel grateful to God and satisfied to deliver the best of me in every activity, and to be able to prove that women are beautiful, smart and especially humanitarian.
I want to thank my family because it has always been the pillar in all my dreams and has supported me tirelessly because they have always stayed together trusting me, my friends for believing in me. I also want to thank all my beautiful people of San Marcos who have taken the time to send me messages to show their unconditional support.
Tomorrow will be a great day; a day that will be marked in the history of my life and I will give the best of me for San Marcos to have the second most important crown at a national level."
