Miss Universe Guatemala 2023 Michelle Cohn – The first ever mother to compete at Miss Universe 2023

The finale night of Miss Universe Guatemala 2023 was a night of history being made as the organization crowned the first ever mother to compete at Miss Universe 2023 since MUO changed the rules to allow married women and mother to compete at Miss Universe.

Michelle Cohn is the newly crowned Miss Universe Guatemala 2023, a mother of two and is an entrepreneur, a television host, a radio announcer and a professional model. The finale was held on 6th August 2023 at Gran Sala Efraín Recinos, Centro Cultural Miguel Ángel Asturias, Guatemala City, Guatemala. Michelle is 28 years of age and stands 179 cm tall.

Not new to the pageantry, Michelle represented Guatemala at Miss Grand International 2013 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, where she was unplaced. In 2014, she represented Guatemala at Miss América Latina del Mundo 2013 at Barceló Maya Beach Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic where she was adjudged as the third runner-up.

Along with Michelle, Hassell Zúñiga from Izabal, Brianna Herrarte from Guatemala en USA, Cielo Pereira from Alta Verapez, Dayana García del Cid from San Raymundo and Evelyn Tejada from Santa Catarina Pinula were adjudged first, second, third, fourth and fifth runners-up respectively.

Top 16 also included María Monzón (Chimaltenango), Melany Herrera (Departamento de Guatemala), Rosario Flores (El Progreso), Dayanna Gallardo (Guatemala Centro). Stephanie Valenzuela (Jalapa), Sara Avendaño (Mixco), Annacamila Castillo (Sacatepéquez),Evelyn Donis (San Juan Sacatepéquez), Karen Sandoval (Santa Rosa) and Allany Rivas (Zacapa).

The accomplished panel of jury responsible for crowning the new queen included Jorge Alvarado, Flaminia Villagran, Maria Jose Juarez, Dr. Gerson Chinchilla, Owana Lima, Jose Miguel del Cid, Christa Wellman, Silva Mansilla Manrique, Kerim Handal, Rosa Maria Castaneda, Jaime Torres.
