Miss Universe Iceland 2018 will host its grand coronation night on 21st August 2018 at the Hljómahöll Stapi Concert and Conference Hall in Reykjanesbær. The reigning queen, Miss Universe Iceland 2017 Arna Ýr Jónsdóttir will crown her successor at the conclusion of the finale.

The ninth delegate to be introduced, in the series to Top 10 favourite contestants competing for the title of Miss Universe Iceland 2018, is Aníta Ösp Ingólfsdóttir

Aníta Ösp Ingólfsdóttir is 21 years old and works at a modeling agency. She is a fitness freak and loves to flaunt her bikini body. She is famous among her peers since childhood. Her hobbies include music, design and sports. She has been involved in gymnastics since the age of four. She is a believer of God, and dreams to make this world a better place to live. She is a Game of Thrones fan who also had the opportunity to be cast in it for few episodes

The pageant started off on a bit of a bad foot this year, with controversies following it since the start. Miss Universe Iceland had announced that it is open for registration and looking for a representative, but, the news was taken in a slightly offensive manner when the requirements to qualify as a contender revealed.

One of the requirements qualifications stated that: ‘The applicant must be physically certified as a female by an Icelandic doctor. However, things sorted out after the organizers took responsible steps to clarify the confusion.
