Kyrgyzstan is back to compete at the 71st edition of Miss Universe after an absence of four years. Altynai Botoyarova has been designated the title of Miss Universe Kyrgyzstan 2022 and the opportunity to represent her country. This will be Kyrgyzstan’s second participation in Miss Universe.

Altynai Botoyarova hails from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan and is 18 years of age. Not new to the pageantry, in 2021, she was crowned Miss Bishkek 2020. As Miss Bishkek 2020, she was supposed to represent Kyrgyzstan at Miss World 2021 but her country withdrew from the competition.

In 2021, she competed against 30 other candidates at Miss Kyrgyzstan 2021 in Bishkek and won the national crown. On 21st September 2022, the stunning beauty was officially appointed as Kyrgyzstan’s candidate to Miss Universe.

On being awarded the national crown, Altynai Botoyarova took to her official social media as she wrote, “My childhood dream was to enter the Miss Universe pageant, and I would not have believed it if that five-year-old girl had been told that this dream would become a reality. I want to personally share with you the news that I will represent Kyrgyzstan at the international contest.”

Miss Universe 2022, the 71st edition of Miss Universe, will be held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States on 14th January 2022.
