Miss Universe Malaysia 2017 Samantha Katie Hollywood Dream

Miss Universe Malaysia 2017, Samantha Katie has been striving hard to mesmerize everyone with her talent and showcase herself as the most deserving candidate at the 66th edition of Miss Universe pageant to be held later this year.

The 22-year-old half Chinese half Brazilian is one of the most ambitious beauty queens as she is extremely focused and motivated on achieving her goal of becoming a big name in Hollywood.

When asked about her dreams and aspiration, Samantha Katie said, “I want to make it big in the United States.”

The beauty queen who was brought up in Klang has been working as a professional model since the age of 17 that has made her travel to various other countries like the United States, India, Brazil, and Thailand.

She has been a part of various commercials and has also played the main lead in a horror mystery, Kastil Tua, which was a Malaysian-Indonesian co-production.

According to Samantha, it is really hard for her to get a role in a Malaysian movie because of her non-native looks. So, the dedicated beauty queen is fixated with her dream of becoming the next big thing in Hollywood and said, “I feel that my look is accepted there”.

When asked about the kind of projects she would like to work on, Samantha confidently said, “Something in a Marvel movie or television series, or even a Disney princess' role.”

She also said, “But, don’t judge a book by its cover. I may look white but I’m Malaysian on the inside,” she said with a steely gaze.

The dedicated beauty was able to impress everyone with her stunning looks and talent to win the title of the Miss Universe Malaysia 2017 at the finale held on Feb 23'2017 at The Majestic Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. Regarding her win at the prestigious beauty pageant, Samantha said, “I felt proud of myself. All my hard work and positive affirmations had worked out. So, never give up.”

Now that she will be representing her country in Miss Universe 2017, Samantha was asked whether she felt any sort of burden to which she replied, “No pressure really, I’m ready.”

As she has been giving a lot of emphasis on physical workout lately, she also said, “I’ve been training hard and I recently ran a 21km marathon. If I win, I want to be the first Miss Universe who runs marathons.”

On whether she ever gets discouraged when she receives negativity from people for being in the limelight, Samantha Katie said, “I just ignore it, I know where I stand and who I am, and so I don’t care. I just focus on the positive (aspects) and keep the company of people who are positive, too.”

When asked about her chances of winning the title of Miss Universe 2017, she said, “Whether I win or not, at least I get to make new friends.”

Very well said, Samantha!
