Shweta Sekhon was crowned Miss Universe Malaysia 2019 on 7th March 2019 at the grand coronation night held at the Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur where she defeated seventeen other beauties to win the crown. Now, the official representative of Malaysia, Shweta has begun her preparations for Miss Universe 2019. She is no ordinary beauty in pageantry as she has already won over countless hearts.

The beautiful diva belongs to Punjabi descendant who currently resides in Kuala Lumpur and is a Public Speaking Representative. Not exactly a beauty queen in her teenage, Shweta used to be a chubby girl who wore braces. Her transition into a tall and gorgeous beauty not only surprised her but also everyone around her.

The diva had no plans to enter the pageant world. She was randomly approached by a person on Facebook to share her profile to apply in pageantry and later she executed and that’s how her journey began. Prior to winning Miss Universe Malaysia 2019, Shweta stood in the third place in Miss World Malaysia 2017.

Shweta was raised by a single mother, who was a stewardess in Malaysian Airlines along with her younger sister, whom she considers as her ‘partner-in-crime’. The beauty also worked with a charity named, Help Somebody KL andaims to raise the awareness for the charity.

The gorgeous beauty is fond of studying literature, as in her grade six, she was the only Punjabi girl to win a poetry competition, donning her mother’s Malaysia Airlines kebaya uniform. She was named ‘Shweta’ after Bollywood’s legend Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter by her father.

As a student, Shweta was an extrovert, studious yet a popular kid, loved by everyone. She was also the vice president of Science and Math Club and the school scout troop and an active participants in sports such as netball.
