Miss Universe Malta crowns a winner to represent the islands of Malta in the biggest international beauty pageant, Miss Universe. Last year it was Tiffany Pisani who represented the Island of Malta. This year, twenty-five candidates, representing different localities around Malta and Gozo will compete in various rounds such as evening gown, swimwear, and personality question rounds. The winner will be chosen by a panel of professional jury. She will have a year packed with various activities, interviews, television appearances and more.

One of the contestants is a strong independent woman, sort of self-made diva. Her name is Nicole Belenska and she is representing Msida. She is a law student in University. She is an avid sports person and has been practicing four different kinds of sports. Swiming, Dancing, Horse Riding, and Tenis are the sports she is playing regularly as her hobby. She is a single child to a single mother. Her parents got divorced when she was two. Her mother raised her. According to her, her childhood was rough which made her a tough and strong independent woman.  She says she is an ambitious and goal striving person. So far she wants to motivate other girls to Never Give up on anything.

She believes that The Miss Universe Malta is a great platform with loads of opportunity and scope for her near future.

Established in the year 2016, the Miss Universe Malta pageant is organized by Glow Promotions. Before the Miss Universe Malta pageant, the representatives for Miss Universe were selected from the Miss Malta pageant. The event, Miss Universe, consists of more than 90 countries competing for this title. The show's main motive is to empower young women from around the globe, thus adopting the slogan 'Confidently Beautiful'. Miss Universe is licensed under IMG Models and MUO in New York.

The newly crowned Miss Universe Malta 2018 will then represent Malta at the Miss Universe 2018 pageant where Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters will crown her successor.
