The new and improvised beauty pageant of Miss Universe Nepal is vying to break the stereotypes and notions with letting the Transwomen participate in the beauty pageant. The inclusion of Transwomen makes the Miss Universe Nepal the first national pageant in Asia to let transwomen join the competition especially after Miss Universe Colombia had ruled out the participation of transwomen at their pageant. The national director and former beauty queen Nagma Shrestha stated, “We embrace diversity and it doesn’t matter how tall you are or how much you weigh – Confidence Matters!”

Last year, Pradeepta Adhikari represented Nepal at the Miss Universe 2019 stage where she was highly appreciated but unfortunately was not placed at the end of the event finale.
