One of the things that has stood out in Miss Universe Nepal 2020 is the inclusion of Transwomen at the pageant. This comes as a huge announcement as Miss Universe Nepal becomes the first national pageant in Asia to let transwomen join the competition especially after Miss Universe Colombia had ruled out the participation of transwomen at their pageant. The national director and former beauty queen Nagma Shrestha stated, “We embrace diversity and it doesn’t matter how tall you are or how much you weigh – Confidence Matters!”
