In an interview on Jim Rome’s CBS Sports Radio show, Mark Shapiro, Chief Content Officer at WME, IMG, said the Family Feud host was “very remorseful” about the error and that Harvey was “absolutely” welcome back to host the 2016 pageant. Shapiro said that Harvey did a great job. “He was funny, he was informative, he’s high energy, he’s got a great following. … I definitely want him back, and I would hate to see him not come back. He’s going to want a shot to redeem himself.”

The Belize Tourism Board is also doing its part to keep Harvey in the pageant-hosting biz.

The board said it was impressed with the way Harvey handled himself after the snafu and disagreed with some of the speculation that the incident could put the kibosh on his future hosting opportunities. Beauty pageants, especially the Costa Maya Festival, apparently, are very popular in Belize, and the board felt Harvey would be a great host after watching this year’s Miss Universe show.

Shapiro further explains that the organization will consider updating the cue card from here on out. Shapiro said that Harvey “felt terrible” about the embarrassing blunder.

“He was humiliated, he felt he humiliated her,” Shapiro added.

He said Steve Harvey shouldn't be too hard on himself -- and that other than the final announcement -- Harvey “did a great job.” He continued that Harvey “was funny, informative, and high energy.” On top of all that, he has a big following. Mark Shapiro said that not only is Steve Harvey invited back to next year's competition, he'd “hate to see him not come back.”

“I’m sure FOX would support it… He’s going to want a shot to redeem himself,” Shapiro said.

One more renowned news portal reported Tuesday that Harvey was spotted for the first time since the pageant competition leaving his home in Atlanta. He was pictured in the backseat of a chauffeured Bentley.

The TV personality and host of “The Steve Harvey Show” and “Family Feud” was about as apologetic as anyone can get about such a mistake. Still, many aren't taking it very kindly for what Harvey did by accidentally announcing the Miss Universe 2015 winner.

It’s unclear if Steve Harvey will accept the offer to emcee the pageant next year. Thought?
