Alessia Rovegno was crowned Miss Peru 2022 on 14th June 2022 at the pageant held at the América Televisión studios in the Pachacamac district. She succeeded her predecessor Yely Rivera as she became the official representative of Peru at Miss Universe 2022.

While Alessia Rovegno is currently preparing for her stint at Miss Universe 2022, she has already become a fan-favourite for the international crown with her absolutely mesmerizing beauty and graceful personality. If Alessia wins the Miss Universe, she will bring home the Miss Universe crown for the second time after 65 years. The first Miss Universe crown was brought home in 1957 by Gladys Zender.

Born in Lima, Alessia is 24 years of age and stands 180 cm tall. She comes from an accomplished family as well; her father is Luis Rovegno who is a the baker and her mother is actress Bárbara Cayo who are both of Italian descent. She is also the niece of actors Fiorella Cayo, Stephanie Cayo, and Mario "Macs" Cayo.

Alessia studied at Markham College. Just at the age of 19, she began haute couture modeling and making her own way to the top, she later participated in the New York Fashion Week. Alessia has also been carrying out social support campaigns with the non-profit organization Bridgestoday.

Alessia is an advocate for social justice and equality. She has also partnered with Illari SKIN to support Help Peru and their life-changing initiatives. Alessia will use her platform to raise awareness of the excellent work done by Help Peru and how everyone may contribute. She is definitely a strong contender for the international with her strong advocacy, her stunning beauty and a charming personality.
