The 65th edition of Miss Universe pageant is on its road to the finale and is slated to be held on 30th January 2017. While contestants from different nations are making their departure for the coveted pageant, Maxine Medina, Miss Universe Philippines 2016, attended a grand send off event for the pageant on Tuesday.

A send off party was held for Maxine Medina, and the 26 year old shy timid girl who came into the limelight after winning the Binibining Pilipinas 2016 title, was nowhere to be seen. Maxine has transformed into this gorgeous confident lady who is all prepared to give her best shot at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant. Maxine is now a much more confident and strong personality that has come out.
Maxine, while talking about her transformation, credits her intense training for all the positive changes in her. Medina added that she's been practicing very hard for the question-and-answer portion which she said she chooses to do in English. However, recently former Miss Universe from Philippines, Gloria Diaz expressed that Filipino beauties should feel free to answer in Tagalog if they feel uncomfortable expressing themselves in English.
But, Medina decided to challenge all her shortcomings and overcome it with confidence, and believes she is ready to answer all the questions in English. The send off event was graced by other Binibining Pilipinas queens and Medina's mother and sister were also a part of the party, both of whom said they have been praying for her Miss Universe journey to proceed according to "God's plan."

Renowned designer Rhett Eala designed Medina's national costume – along with 11 other outfits which she is scheduled to grace for various Miss Universe activities throughout the contest. Eala, however, didn’t reveal the designs of the outfits.
