With Miss Universe Philippines separating from Binibining Pilipinas in 2019, the first edition of Miss Universe Philippines i.e. Miss Universe Philippines 2020 will be hosted on 3rd May 2020 in Mall of Asia Arena, Bay City, Pasay, Metro Manila. Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados will crown her successor by the end of the event finale.

Patricia Mae Santos is 26-years-old and has graduated as Consular and Diplomatic Affairs (AB) from De La Salle - College of St. Benilde. Patricia is currently a senior cabin crew at Philippine Airlines Express. She is passionate about travelling, fashion and modelling.

Miss Universe Philippines 2020 is Patricia’s first attempt for winning the title and representing her country at Miss Universe 2020 competition. The diva has worked with some renowned designers and photographers who have helped her understand the environment and situations of a beauty pageant. She has been appreciated by people for being a quick learner and accepting whatever comes her way.

Patricia wants to use the platform of Miss Universe Philippines 2020 to advocate people about bullying and self-love. She herself has dealt with bullying when she was young and she has witnessed a lot of people getting bullying. She wants to raise awareness about how much bullying can harm individual’s self and mental health. She has been advocating and writing about the same issue on her social media and blogs because she feels that the world has enough hate and bullying just adds upon on it.

Patricia is practicing and preaching out about self-love because when she started out with her pageant journey, she was demeaned by a lot of people and it took her a lot of time to gather all the courage and fight back. For someone who is dealing with both bullying and self-doubt, Patricia is a very strong example about how hard work, determination and self confidence can help you achieve everything you want.

Patricia has started to prep her up for the competition as she has started to work on her on-stage walk, interview skills, body language, posing and knowledge as she wants to impress the judges as soon as she steps on the stage. She is very confident and strong personality and one can feel her presence when she steps on the stage.  She is very kind and compassionate; keeping her current job in mind, she is very soft-spoken but keeps her opinions and thoughts out. She has a captivating face and smile which can hold one’s attention for a very long time and her charming personality adds up to her advantage.

Patricia’s first national pageant surly brings a lot of pressure on the diva but she is very positive and confident that she has all the skills and abilities that is needed to win the title. She can be a tough competition even though; it is her first national pageant.

Miss Universe Philippines aims to encourage Filipina women to become empowered individuals, who also embody the mission of being agents of meaningful change wherever they are. It trains participants to become role models, pursuing personal and professional goals, while also leaving and inspiring positive impact in society.
