Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Top 10 Early Hot Picks

With Miss Universe Philippines separating from Binibining Pilipinas in 2019, the first edition of Miss Universe Philippines, i.e. Miss Universe Philippines 2020, will be hosted on 3rd May 2020 in Mall of Asia Arena, Bay City, Pasay, Metro Manila.

Miss Universe Philippines organization has officially revealed their city’s representatives who will be vying for the national title. This is the first time that the national pageant is going to take place with strong delegation, as most of these divas are well experienced and well-versed with the pageantry.

While 52 delegates are competing for the national title, we have picked out our early favourites who we think can be a strong competition this year. So, without further ado, here are our Top 10 early hot picks for Miss Universe Philippines 2020 –

Kimberly Hakenson representing Cavite

Kimberly Hakenson is blessed with pleasing beauty who hails from Silang, Cavite and currently resides in Lapu-Lapu City. She completed her higher education from Infant Jesus Academy Silang, Cavite Philippines and later studied Business Administration major in Marketing Management at St. Dominic College of Asia. She works as a flight attendant with Cebu Pacific Air. She has a charming personality and she can attain the attention of many with her mesmerizing aura. The beauty is not new to pageantry as she earlier competed in Miss World Philippines in 2019 where she was a finalist at Beach Beauty Competition but unfortunately failed to place in the top. We believe that in this year’s Miss Universe Philippines, she will definitely be a strong contender as she is well experienced when it comes to the pageantry. Maria Ysabella Ysmael representing Paranaque

Ysabella is a 24-year-old ballerina at Hampton Court Ballet. Bella graduated from the De La Salle University with a degree in Psychology. She is a mix of Filipina, Spanish and Lebanese descent. The diva is the grand daughter of former actress Marita Zobel and niece of the country’s second Miss Universe Margarita Moran. Bella is not new to the pageantry as she has previously won Binibining Parañaque back in 2014. She has also participated in Century Tuna Superbods Ageless 2018 where she was placed as the first runner-up under the female category. She is confident and loves to be on the stage. She stands strong when it comes to Mental Health Awareness and fighting the stigma surrounding it. Paula Madarieta Ortega representing Albay

Paula Madarieta Ortega, is of full-blooded Filipino who was born and raised in Spain, by a Bicolana and Ilocano parents. She graduated with a degree in Medical Laboratory Technician as she had been very interested in Biology. However, she’s currently pursuing Nursing at the University of Barcelona because she wants to become more interactive and immersed with people. She was working as a Laboratory Assistant at Saint Paul Hospital of Barcelona. She started her modeling career at age 16. Paula is not new to pageantry as she started off as an official candidate of Mutya ng Ibalong in year 2018 and now she is all ready for the Universe fire. Pauline Amelinckx representing Bohol

Pauline hails from the city of Bohol in Philippines. She is well-experienced model and is also a beauty queen who has won many hearts with her charming personality and her beauty. Pauline is no stranger to the pageant world as she was Miss Bohol 2017 and Miss JCI Philippines 2017. Pauline Amelinckx was crowned Miss Global Beauty Queen Philippines 2018 during the grand finale of Mutya Ng Pilipinas 2018 on 16th September 2018. She performed well in the finale night of Mutya Ng Pilipinas 2018 and won two special awards; Mutyang Zen Institute and Miss Avon Fashion. Her captivating smile and mesmerizing beauty never fails when it comes to grabbing everyone’s attention. Sandra Raymundo Lemonon representing Taguig City

Sandra is a model by profession, 25 years of age and stands 175 cm tall. Being a fine-arts graduate, she is a great artist with excellent creativity. Her experience in the field of modeling is of more than 5 years and she has learned to improve herself at every step. She also managed to make into the list of top 4 finalists of Miss World Philippines 2016, and is now going to vie for the crown of Miss Universe Philippines 2020. Lemonon was also a part of Binibining Philippinas 2018 but was overrun by her good friend Catriona Gray who won the pageant. She is extremely confident, beautiful and loves to be unique. Sandra inspires women to love and embrace themselves as they naturally are and supports the LGBTQ+ community. Her social media profile is strong enough to justify her love and care for society. Her dedication to win is out of the bound which is why she always gives her best in the contests. Maria Isabela Galeria representing Sorsogan

Maria is a 20-year-old beauty who is a resident of Manila, Philippines. She has completed her schooling from Matnog National High School.  She has been aware of the struggles and grievances of the general public to gain access to basic healthcare. Hence, she took admission in medical college and graduated from the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Centre with a degree in Nursing and she is now a registered nurse. When Maria was only about 14-year-old, she wrote a Wattpad novel called “Wrong Number” which later got adapted into a mini-series by TV5. She is an incredible storyteller and a very kind and compassionate nurse. Apart from this, she also developed an interest in modelling and started working as a model. She has walked for fashion shows like Manila Fashion Festival and Philippine Fashion Week. This is the first time that this gorgeous Filipina is going to be a part of a national pageant. However, she tried her luck in the recent pageant of Miss Mandaluyong 2019 pageant where ended up as the third runner-up at the conclusion of the event. Apriel Smith representing Cebu Province

Apriel Smith is 24 years of age and stands 175 cm tall. The beautiful and talented starlet, joined the Binibining Pilipinas where she was placed in top 15. She is not new to pageantry, as before her momentous win as the first Binibining Cebu in 2017, Smith joined a couple of pageants in and outside of Cebu. She was crowned Miss Dumanjug 2011, Miss Cebu City Olympics 2012, Sinulog Festival Queen 2012 and Miss Badian 2015. She was also placed as third runner up in Miss Mandaue 2013 and first runner up in the Reyna ng Aliwan 2017. Sigrid Grace Flores representing Catanduanes

Sigrid is 25 years of age and is the eldest daughter of Juliette Flores. She has graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Central Philippine University before going to the University of the Philippines Visayas to study political science. She participated in Miss Republic Philippines 2015 and later in Miss Bicolandia 2017 where she was placed as the fourth runner-up. Sigrid Grace represented Miagao in the Miss Dinagyang 2011 where she emerged as 2nd runner-up. The diva defines beauty as one elicited from within, rather than just physical. It is beyond the physical appearance. Sigrid has emerged as a very strong contender for the title of Miss Universe Philippines 2020. Her experience, advocacy and hard work will add to her advantage. Her determination towards winning clearly shows as she has already started to prep herself up for the big event finale. Alaiza Flor Malinao representing Davao City

Alaiza is 26-years-old and stands 175cm tall. She is a Psychology graduate and now works as a professional model who has walked in various fashion shows. Alaiza is not new to the pageant world as she earlier participated in Binibining Pilipinas 2015 and later was seen at Asia’s Next Top Model Season 4 where she represented Philippines. But unfortunately, she was bowed out of the regional modelling search and lost in Elite Model Look Asia. Even though she couldn’t win the pageants, her zeal or desire to represent Philippines at Miss Universe 2020 brought her back to the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 stage. Alaiza is an advocate of mental wellness awareness and is appointed as the ambassador for Flourish Circle by Love Yourself organization. Alaiza is a determined individual who has honed her skills through the years to become the successful model she is today. She knows her stances, has worked on her walk and learnt to talk with eloquence becoming the perfect amalgamation to become a beauty queen. Michele Theresa Gumabao representing Quezon City

Michele is 27 years of age and stands 177cm tall. She graduated with a degree in Marketing Management from De La Salle University where she was a consistent Dean’s lister and now works as a professional volleyball player and a TV presenter for ABS-CBN Sports and Action. She is the daughter of former PBA player and actor Dennis Roldan and siter of actor Marco Gumbao. She was crowned as Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2018 and represented Philippines at Miss Global 2018. Even though, she didn’t win the title of Miss Globe 2018, she was placed at Top 15 and was adjudged with the title of Miss Social Media and Dream Girl.
