Just as the Red Carpet Presentation was held on 14th February 2020 for the Miss Universe Philippines 2020, the first edition of the national pageant, 52 stunning divas were unveiled who will now give a strong competition to each other to win the chance to represent Philippines at Miss Universe 2020.
Maria Isabela Galeria has made it to this year’s edition as she will represent the province of Sorsogon at Miss Universe Philippines 2020. Residing in Manila, Maria Isabela has completed her schooling from Matnog National High School. Maria aspired to become a doctor because coming from Sorsogon, she was aware of the struggles and grievances of the general public to gain access to basic healthcare. She, then, took admission in medical college and graduated at the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Centre with a degree in Nursing and now is a registered nurse. An amalgamation of beauty with brains, Maria is definitely a favourite this year for the crown.
Maria’s pageant journey has also been quite interesting as she participated in Miss Mandaluyong 2019 pageant where she finished as the third runner-up before trying her luck in Binibining Pilipinas 2019 last year. At the national contest, she placed in the Top 15 winning everyone’s hearts. Her experience at the Binibining Pilipinas has definitely given her the edge that she needs to be a strong competition for the other ladies at the competition.
Apart from this, Maria, just at the age of 14, wrote a Wattpad novel called “Wrong Number” which later got adapted into a mini-series by TV5. An incredible storyteller, Maria showed her creative side and honed her skills since a young age. The stunning Filipina beauty also engages in Philanthropic activities as is a supporter of creative freedom and innovation and believes in the hard work, integrity and the talent of Filipinos.
The finale of Miss Universe Philippines 2020 is scheduled to be held on 3rd May 2020 at the Mall of Asia Arena, Bay City, Metro Manila where Gazini Ganados Miss Universe Philippines 2019 will crown her successor at the end of the event finale. The pageant is inspired by Miss Universe's slogan ‘Confidently Beautiful’ and henceforth has adopted the theme ‘Confident, beautiful, and empowered Filipinas.’
