Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo’s exercise and diet regimen for Miss Universe 2020

While Miss Universe organization is yet to announce where the next edition of Miss Universe will be held, Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo has already begun her journey to prepare for her stint in Miss Universe 2020.

She is hitting the gym everyday religiously even though she received ‘Best in Swimsuit’ award during her national competition. John Cuay, the man responsible for the training of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, is helping Rabiya with her training. The two had already collaborated for Mateo’s preparation for the Miss Universe Philippines pageant, together with a handful of other aspirants including three of Mateo’s eventual runners-up.

“What we are trying to achieve now is to work every muscle that acts on her shoulder girdle and shoulder joint itself to achieve more width in the area and broaden the shoulders for that ‘V’ silhouette”, Cuay said.

Rabiya also has to focus on a protein rich diet to gain all the muscles that she needs to at the international competition. “I eat a lot of chicken, pork and beef. With a target of around 1,600 to 1,700 calories per day, I don’t need to limit my rice intake, but I need to add more vegetables and fruits to my meals”, Rabiya said.

At the end of the day, when it feels difficult to get through for the beauty queen, she just reminds herself that she is doing it for her country. Rabiya will definitely be a strong contender for the Miss Universe 2020 crown with all her preparations.
