The Miss Universe Philippines organization will be hosting the coronation ceremony for Miss Universe Philippines 2021 on 25th September 2021 following a new screening process where the divas from across the country will compete for the national crown and an opportunity to represent the Philippines at Miss Universe 2021. The winner will succeed Miss Universe Philippines 2020, Rabiya Mateo.

The schedule for events and activities of Miss Universe Philippines 2021 was announced during the homecoming event that was hosted for the phenomenal Miss Universe Philippines 2020, Rabiya Mateo. The organization decided on the new format of screening to allow greater participation from all over the Philippines. By doing virtual screenings at the beginning, the delegates do not have to be in Manila and incur lots of unnecessary travel expenses.

One of the divas whose participation was highly anticipated is Steffi Aberasturi, who has now confirmed that she has applied for Miss Universe Philippines 2021. She confirmed the news through a pageantry page on social media where she mentioned that she was silent till now, but it has been years of training and preparation for her and she is looking forward to representing the Philippines at Miss Universe 2021.

Steffi shared that she submitted her application in June and is now waiting for the screening process, which includes virtual challenges and will be narrowed down to the official candidates through online voting. She is 26-years-old and stands 170 cm tall. She has graduated with a degree in Tourism Management from the University of San Carlos. She works as an ESL teacher and a professional model as well. Grown-up in Liloan, Cebu, Steffi is of Spanish, Australian, and Filipino descent.

The diva is advocating for promoting the Philippines’ old tradition culture and came up with an online campaign, #MYQUEENDERASTORY to share her online selling experience during the pandemic with the hopes of inspiring other young entrepreneurs to make their dreams happen and, at the same time, encourage others to also share their ‘queendera/kingdero’ stories.

Steffi is not new to the world of pageantry as she has won various titles such as Sinulog Festival Queen 2011, Miss Campus Femme 2012, etc. She was also the winner of Binibining Cebu 2018-2019 and has shown immense dedication and determination to represent the country on the international stage. She wants everyone to know that they should keep following their aspirations until they have achieved them.

The diva stated that beauty pageants have helped her to give her a sense of direction and a chance for her to share her passion, talent, promote advocacy, and people to hear her voice. "When I was young, I was always fascinated by women wearing beautiful gowns. But what caught my attention is that being part of a pageant gives you the chance to inspire people, touch lives, promote your advocacy and make a difference to yourself and others, " Steffi shared.

In her confirmation message, the diva also mentioned that she is grateful to the people who have always supported her and motivated her to keep doing what she loves and their love and support mean a lot to her. She lastly added, "I hope you continue to support and join me as I embark on bagging the 5th Miss Universe crown for the Philippines, one ‘Steff’ at a time." She will prove to be one of the strongest contenders in the competition with her experience and enchanting personality.
