Miss Universe Philippines organization has announced the Top 40 delegates who will be competing for the fourth edition of Miss Universe Philippines. The finale will be held on 13th May 2023 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena where Celeste Cortesi Miss Universe Philippines 2022 will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.  

In a series of features, lets introduce the Top 40 delegates of Miss Universe Philippines 2023. Kimberly Escartin, representing Southern Leyte, has made it to the national competition. This is a history making event for Southern Leyte.

Escartin is working in the tourism industry of London and stands at 5’6” tall. On making it as the official delegate, Kimberly took to her official social media as she said, “Your girl made it as an official candidate for this year’s @themissuniverseph. So kilig! Thank you to everyone who believed in me, I really appreciate each and everyone of you. I am excited to be in this journey where I will be sharing my story to hopefully inspire others and make a difference in our society. Please continue to support me as my journey to @themissuniverseph begins.”

Through her participation, Kimberly aims to raise awareness about her advocacy, the prevention of teenage pregnancy. Early pregnancy is one of the pressing issues Filipino youths are facing today. The Philippines has one of the highest teenage pregnancy rates among the ASEAN member.

The Miss Universe Philippines 2023 winner will succeed Celeste Cortesi Miss Universe Philippines 2022, who represented the Philippines at the Miss Universe 2022 in January. The winner of the upcoming pageant will compete at the 72nd Miss Universe which will take place in El Salvador in late 2023.
