Joanne Thornley, through the official social media of Miss Universe Philippines – Angeles City, was appointed as the official representative of Angeles city at Miss Universe Philippines 2024 on 7th February 2024. Joanne is 22 years of age and stands 5 feet 9 inches tall.

Joanne is of Filipino-Canadian descent who hails from Balibago, Angeles City. She is currently pursuing a bachelors degree in fashion design from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde in Malate, Manila. Joanne has travelled to countries such as Indonesia, USA, Canada, Thailand and has experienced cultures all over the world.

Not new to the pageant world, Thornley competed at Mutya Ning Angeles 2022 and won the crown. Last year, she also competed at another local pageant Mutya Ning Kapampangan 2023 where she placed as the runner-up. Her experience, although not a lot, will definitely be advantageous for her at the national competition.

The regional organization also announced her appointment as they wrote on their social media, “We are thrilled to announce that the Miss Universe Philippines Angeles City is none other than Joanne Marie Estorco Thornley. Her journey to the crown officially starts today.”

Miss Universe Philippines 2024, the fifth edition of Miss Universe Philippines, will be held later this year where Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee of Makati will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
