Filipina queens Catriona Gray and Pia Wurtzbach to narrate Filipino stories for TV

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray have been roped in for the second season of “Bahay Book Club” to narrate the Filipino stories for the younger generation.

Catriona narrate the story ‘The Sea Creature and the Legend of the Pearl’, which is about the sea creature called Hiyas and how a mother inspired her to create what we know now as pearls. Whereas Pia, will read the story of ‘Maria Makiling’, which is about a nymph named Maria who teaches two men a lesson.

Along with the gorgeous divas, Bahay Book Club’s second season narrators include Black Eyed Peas rapper Apl De Ap, writer Jaime Kailani, animator Bobby Rubio and theatre actress Ali Ewoldt.

‘Legend of the Rainbow’, will be narrated by Mama Earth Organization founder and children’s book author Kailani. Broadway star Ali Ewoldt will narrate the story ‘Lola’s Hands’, about a young girl who remembers her Lola (grandmother) while she prepares her Lola’s signature family dish. Rubio, the writer, and director of Pixar’s ‘Float’, will lend his voice to ‘The Centaur and the Elves’, which is about a boy who gets lost on his way home and meets a centaur and an elf. Filipino-American rapper Apl De Ap narrates the story ‘The Epic of Ibalon’, which follows the magical quest of Lam-Ang to find his missing father.

‘Bahay Book Club’ is a show from television network TFC, that showcases the stories written by Filipino authors and are narrated by other celebrities to introduce Filipino culture to the younger generation and non-Filipinos around the world.

Catriona and Pia are excited and feels honored for such prestigious opportunity that has allowed them to introduce the Filipino culture into the lives of people not only in the Philippines but all over the world. Since, the divas advocate about empowering and raising awareness about the Filipino culture and traditions among the youth of the country, these stories comes in just in the right time.
