Kristhielee Caride admitted to Psychiatric Hospital after losing the Miss Puerto Rico 2016 crown

It is tear-jerking news not just for Kristhielee Caride’s family, but her fans as well! Recently dethroned Miss Puerto Rico 2016, Kristhielee Caride has revealed that she was briefly admitted to a psychiatric hospital after she was stripped off her crown.

Kristhielee was dethroned from Puerto Rico 2016 position on March 17’ 2016 due to her appalling statement at a press conference. She was publicly slammed by pageant officials and was quickly replaced by Brenda Jimenez. Kristhielee revealed that the situation has left her unable to eat or sleep for days. 

Her family, friends and fans found this action of Miss Puerto Rico organization silly. They questioned Kristhielee Caride’s dethronement saying that she should not have been dethroned for such a ridiculous reason. They also demanded the Miss Universe Puerto Rico organization to take back their decision, and reappoint Kristhielee Caride as Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2016.

Kristhielee, stated as saying  - “This situation hit me very hard”, Caride told Univision. “I can tell you I got some help because a dark depression came over me.

Desiree Lowry, the national director of Miss Universe Puerto Rico said that Caride told pageant officials that she was having a personal problem and that the incident would not happen again, but said the beauty queen never apologized for the interview.

Miss Puerto Rico is a public figure and part of your job is to be in front of the camera”, Lowry said during a press conference to announce that Caride would lose her title.

You always have to put your best face forward. It's a given that we are going to be in front of cameras and that we have to answer all types of questions. I saw the damage that she was doing and the damage that she was doing to the organization,” Lowry said before presenting first runner-up Brenda Jimenez as Puerto Rico’s new Miss Universe contestant.

After dethronement, the beauty queen apologized to her fans in a Facebook note and revealed she had been having personal problems in the day leading up to the interview.  

Beauty queens are not exempt from having a bad day," she wrote in Spanish. "I allowed my feelings to get in the way of my work. It is human to err, it is also courageous to recognize our errors and I want to continue being an example of a real woman with purpose that maintains their head held high before all adversity that happens in life.

Caride wrote that she did not agree with the organization’s decision, but said she accepted it “with dignity”.

I will always remember that night of November 12,” she wrote. “When I won the title, and all the experiences and lovely memories of having been Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2016.
