Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2022, the 66th edition of the national pageant, was held tonight at the Luis A. Ferré Performing Arts Center, San Juan where crowd-favourite Ashley Ann Cariño was crowned the new queen. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2021 Michelle Colon.

Ashley Ann Cariño Barreto was a favourite of the crowd ever since the beginning of the competition. She is an Afro-Latina psychosocial rehabilitator, model and beauty queen born in Puerto Rico and raised in Florida, USA. Standing 5 feet 11 inches tall, Ashley previously competed at Miss USA 2021 where she placed second runner-up. Ashley will definitely be a strong contest for the Miss Universe 2022 crown. The newly crowned queen’s court includes -

1st Runner-Up - Leonela Gonzalez de Jesus

2nd Runner-Up - Camille Fabery Diana

Top 5 also included Graciella Berrios, Valeria Pagan Masini while Top 10 also included Mariana Torres Bernard, Edith Enid Bernardi, Kiana Rosado, Raishmar Carillo Gonzalez and Diana Carolina Sostre. Top 15 also included Sarah Angely Rodriguez, Katherine Santiago, Danelly Olivo Figueroa, Elaine Marie Rosado and Susanlee Forty.

Ashley succeeds Universe Puerto Rico 2021 Michelle Colon who represented Puerto Rico at Miss Universe 2021 and placed in the Top 10 at the end of the event finale. Congratulations to the newly crowned queen.
