The preliminary competition of Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2023 was held on Sunday, 20th August 2023 at Teatro Tapia in San Juan. The preliminary competition was the last step for the delegates to show their worth and be selected as semi-finalists.
Nicole Chacón, a Television and radio host, writer, actress, and entrepreneur, hosted the event where thirty delegates paraded the state in their swimsuits and evening gown to impress the panel of jury.
The preliminary competition ended with a number of special awards being presented, which are as follows –
Mejor Cabello L'Oréal – Neysha Marie Mendoza Castro
Mejor Piel Radiante de Ceravé y Vichy – Kiara Rivera Escudero
Miss Fotogénica – Gina Lee García Colón
Mejor Personalidad – Karina Rivera Camacho
Mejor Sonrisa – Fiorella Medina Pérez
My Way de Giorgio Armani Puerto Rico – Karla Inelisse Guilfú Acevedo
The panel of jury who selected the award winners were hematologist-oncologist Anna Di Marco, former Mr World Puerto Rico Fernando Álvarez Soto, performing arts director Ismanuel Rodríguez, blogger Uka Green, aesthetic doctor Wanda González, and De La Cruz president Carlos Thompson.
The finale of Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2023 will be held on Thursday, 24th August 2023 at Centro de Bellas Artes de Santurce where Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2022 Ashley Cariño will crown her successor.
