At the conclusion of the finale held on July 29’ 2016 Hawa Kamara was crowned as Miss Universe Sierra Leone 2016. The IAMSL Pageant in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism started the search for the perfect woman to compete at the Miss Universe 2016. And now, Hawa will represent the country at the MU 2016 pageant. With Hawa Kamara, Sierra Leone will make its debut at the Miss Universe pageant.

25 years old Hawa will be her country's first representative at the Miss Universe Pageant. She is an experienced beauty queen who is not a newbie in the world of beauty pageants. In 2013, Hawa was crowned as Miss West Africa International. The finale was held on July 29 at Miatta Conference Hall, Freetown. Hawa defeated 11 other contestants to clinch the coveted title.
The Miss Universe Sierra Leone pageant is under The International Ambassadors of Sierra Leone (I.AM.SL) Pageant Agency which produces national contests like Miss Universe Sierra Leone, Miss Independence Sierra Leone and Miss Teen Sierra Leone.
