Bernadette comes of Philippine descent as she was born and raised in the Philippines and later when she came to Singapore, she realized that the migrant workers from the Philippines aren’t represented properly in Singapore. Keeping all of this in mind, she wants to use the platform given to her to help the ones who are not able to have the same rights as the Singaporeans.

The diva talks about helping them in terms of legislative aid, wage rights, improved and proper living conditions, and giving overall support to them. She specifically talks about being there and helping the ones who have faced physical and psychological abuse as a lot of migrant workers face when they travel to a new country. The hopeful and beautiful delegate of Singapore had proven herself as one of the potential candidates to represent the home country at Miss Universe 2020 stage and thus was handpicked by the organization.

She is not new to the world of beauty pageants as she was a participant at Miss Universe Singapore 2019 and she ended up being crowned as Miss Charm Singapore 2019 which earned her the opportunity to represent Singapore at Miss Charm International 2019. She was highly appreciated for her strong and dedicated performance on-stage and throughout the competition.

During the press conference, Bernadette mentioned that Miss Universe’s platform in Singapore is different from the one in the Philippines and she would like to explore it and make it stronger and impactful than it is in the other countries. She also mentioned that she is grateful for the opportunity and would try her best to do them justice with the title and the responsibility she has now.

Bernadette is a strong, confident, and determined woman who has always been supported and motivated by her family and friends who believe that she has the potential to make a change in the society they live in. Her strong opinions, the desire to make the community better has always added as an advantage to her career and her loyalty towards her work has made her stand out. She strongly feels that beauty pageants have helped her to be more confident, assured, and focused on being the best version of herself.

Congratulations!
