17 Jun 2021 | Camilla Suarez

The organization of Miss Universe Singapore is all set to host the grand coronation for Miss Universe Singapore 2021 in September as they officially announced that the search for a potential delegate has finally begun. The organization took to their official social media account to share, "The search is on for a new empowered and cosmopolitan woman to represent our mighty red dot." The winner will succeed Bernadette Belle Ong, Miss Universe Singapore 2020, who has been praised for her performance at Miss Universe 2020.

With a hybrid final event, the competition will be held digitally by leveraging visual media and technology. Through a series of fashion films that will premiere across digital platforms, the Miss Universe Singapore competition hopes to highlight the city-state's hidden gems, reveal the culture, and collaborate with local Singaporean artists in the arts and fashion spheres.

The Miss Universe Singapore organization has a new management team which is led by Jonas Antonio Gaffud, who was recently appointed Creative Consultant for the Miss Universe Philippines and Miss Universe Singapore brands by the New York-based organization, Miss Universe. Jonas Gaffud will be joined by Valerie Lim, the former Miss Universe Singapore 2011, the new National Director, as well as the Creative Fashion Director, Daniel Boey.

National Director Daniel Boey mentioned, "As Miss Universe Singapore ups its ante each year and sees more Singaporean women pushing the boundaries of what it means to be a modern empowered woman, I see this platform as a great opportunity to also bring to the forefront of inclusivity, cultural sensitivity, and sustainability issues. I would also like to put the spotlight back on our local designers and artists and work with them to bring Singaporean creations to the international stage. "
