Natasha Joubert was adjudged as the second runner-up at Miss South Africa 2020 on 24th October 2020 at The Table Bay Hotel, Cape Town, South Africa. She was later announced as the official representative of South Africa for Miss Universe 2020.
Natasha hails from Centurion, Tshwane, Gauteng and is a Public Relations Officer at RFJ Inc. Attorneys and founder and owner of Natalia Jefferys (Pty) Ltd. She recently took to her social media to reveal her project #DestinyDesigned; a project that aims to empower and help the fashion designers affected by the pandemic outbreak. The campaign is in collaboration with Miss South Africa organization.
The diva explained that this campaign is very close to her heart as her father passed away when she was 16-years-old and the entire family was struggling with financial difficulties. The diva had to find a way to be financially independent at a very young age and through fashion designing and entrepreneurship she was able to manage to balance out the finances.
Through Destiny Designed, the beauty queen is inviting the South African designers to submit details on their design label and explain how their business has been affected by the pandemic. Ten entrants will then be selected to make two garments each and have them modelled by former Miss South Africa title holders and finalists as well as special guest models in a virtual fundraiser fashion show on 10th April 2021. The show will also feature items from Joubert’s own line, Natalia Jefferys.
The queen explained further that after the show, the designers’ garments will be auctioned off online with the proceeds going to the respective designers. #DestinyDesigned campaign will also showcase the talented designers’ work on a global platform, as viewers from around the world will be able to tune into the show and can purchase a limited-edition custom-designed T-shirt in aid of the project. The entries close on 22nd February 2021.
As Miss Universe South Africa 2020, the diva is aware that she has big shoes to fill when as Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi is from South Africa. She mentioned, “I am truly honored and humbled to be representing my beloved South Africa.” She has started to prepare for the competition and is emerging as one of the favorites for the title.
