The organization of Miss Universe Bangladesh will be hosting the finale for Miss Universe Bangladesh 2020 in March 2021 in Dhaka where delegates from all over the country at Miss Universe 2020. The pageant was officially launched on 11th January 2021 at a media conference held at Hotel Pan Pacific Shonargaon, Dhaka. ‘Confidently Beautiful’ is the new motto of Miss Universe Bangladesh.
Safiqul Islam Duke, president of Miss Universe Bangladesh said, “Miss Universe Bangladesh will feature some of the most beautiful, intelligent, elegant, talented and confident women of our country. This will be the platform where confident Bangladeshi women will face the challenge of the world and serve humanity through various social works.”
Recently the organization recorded a total of 9,256 registrations this year and around 500 participants got calls for the audition round. The organization later selected top 50 contestants through a live audition on 11th February 2021. A virtual audition for contestants from outside the country was held on 13th February 2021 following an assessment on beauty, education, talent, analytical power, and other selective indicators. Of the top 50, the best 20 contestants will go through a rigorous grooming session from 20th February 2021. Mentors will prepare them for the final round, focusing on different skill sets. Shafiqul Islam, National Director of Miss Universe Bangladesh competition, said “The number of talented participants increased this year compared to the previous edition.” He said that the platform builds confidence among women that they can stand on the international stage and present their culture. Singer and actor Tahsan Rahman Khan, model and actor Bidya Sinha Mim will be the judges of the final round of Miss Universe Bangladesh 2020.
