The 70th edition of Miss Universe which recently concluded a week ago has been a rollercoaster ride full of emotions and surprise elements for being one the most awaited pageants of the year and returning back in action after a historical 17 months due to the pandemic.

Coming from a country with two very recent Miss Universe winners, Demi Tebow (2017) and the outgoing Zozibini Tunzi (2019), Natasha had huge shoes to fill in and make her country proud at the international stage. While there have been a lot of contestants from this year’s Miss Universe who have made their names shine bright irrespective of their positions in the finale, Natasha Joubert of South Africa has been a constant favorite of the pageant followers.

Even though she couldn’t make it to the Top 21 finalists, her performances were highly appreciated throughout the course of pageant. Natasha, a few hours back, went live on her social media to catch-up with her followers and give an update about after the pageant but she couldn’t hold herself from getting emotional as she shared her journey and how she has been receiving a lot of support from the fraternity and the pageant fans.

She said, “I can’t thank you enough for ALL your love & support. I’ve never experienced this amount of love before. I want to always be transparent with you guys & share the ups & downs.” It was heartbreaking for her followers and fans to not see a candidate of her potential to make past into the Top 21 spot. “We don’t come to compete. We come to represent. The Miss Universe experience will be something I will never forget,” said Joubert.

In her support, Stephanie Weil, chief executive of the Miss SA Organization said: “We are incredibly proud of Natasha and how she represented both us as an organization and the country on a world stage. We believe that she did South Africa proud and her performance was remarkable from start to finish. We look forward to welcoming her home where her Miss Universe SA journey will continue.”

Talking about her future plans, Natasha made a commitment recently where she said, “I promise this is not the end but only the beginning.” She will then continue her efforts to make a change in communities. “I’m proud of the work we have done, the way we competed and for always staying true to myself. Even though it did not go as we had planned, I promise this is not the end but only the beginning,” she wrote.

With her potential and the caliber she holds, we remain eager to see what this diva has in store for us. For the time being she will use the next few weeks to reflect and spend time with those closest to her but we hope to see her in action soon, making her country, fans and family proud.
