Sofía del Prado has been crowned Miss Universe Spain 2017 at the recently concluded finale of Miss Universe Spain pageant organized by Organización BeMiss. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss Universe Spain 2016, Noelia Freire and will now represent Spain in Miss Universe 2017 pageant. The finale was held in Teatro Fortuna, Hotel THB Torrequebrada Class in Málaga on 24th September 2017 with thirty-nine finalists competing for the crown.
Sofia is 23 years of age and stands tall at an impressive height of 181 cm. She is a student of international relations and can speak Spanish, English, French and German. She is not new to the world of beauty pageants. She earlier competed in Miss Universe Spain 2015 where she was the second runner-up and went on to compete in Reina Hispanoamericana 2015 and won the international pageant defeating other 23 contestants.
Her court included Sárah Loinaz Marjani Miss Universe Guipúzcoa 2017 (first runner-up and Miss Photogenic), Raquel Arias Jiménez Miss Universe Madrid 2017 (second runner-up), Daira Santana Arbelo Miss Universe Las Palmas 2017 (third runner-up), Ana Méndez Rodríguez Miss Universe Tenerife 2017 (fourth runner-up) and María Arcos Miss Universe Granada 2017 (fifth runner-up).
Jacqueline Camarero Romera Miss Universe Alicante 2017, Pilar Magro Nogales Miss Universe Cáceres 2017, María Dolores Liberal Miss Universe La Rioja 2017, Jéssica González Quintela Miss Universe Lugo 2017, Candela Victoria Garrido Punta Miss Universe Sevilla 2017 and Verónica Tena Andrés Miss Universe Valencia 2017 completed the Top 12 finalists.
Fátima Santano Trinidad won the Best Traditional Costume award, while Nerea Moreno Cambero won the Miss Congeniality award.
