After winning the title of Miss Universe Sri Lanka expressed her happiness and thanked everyone by saying, “It’s truly an honour and I am humbled and so delighted to represent my country at Miss Universe this year in Las Vegas, Nevada and I look forward to it. I do want to thank everyone who has been supporting me, who’s been pushing me and motivating me to follow my dreams and achieve everything that I always wanted to and I think it’s great that media is here to cover this.”

“I know most of the people don’t know about my achievement and it is going to be a beautiful surprise to most of you but thanks a lot to the people who did support me in my bad times, as I couldn’t have done it without you guys and now I am looking forward to achieve more with you guys standing beside me”, she furthur said.

Sri Lanka’s highest placement so far was in the year 1955 when Maureen Neliya Hingert was declared as the second runner-up at Miss Universe contest. Do you think Christina will be able to break this ice after 62 years?
