Just as the finale night of Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 is about to come on 6th January 2017, the official swimwear photos were released by the Miss Universe Vietnam organization but what comes as a shock was the absence of three candidates in this photo shoot, Nguyen Diem Uyen, Le Thi Ngoc Ut and Chung Huyen Thanh.
These delegates have withdrawn from the competition for their respective reasons. First came the news of Chung Huyen Thanh leaving the competition. Chung stated that she has to withdraw from the competition due to health reasons after which news came out that her 2-year old boyfriend Singer Jay Quan proposed to her on her 20th birthday and she accepted. She is now married to her long-term boyfriend.
She expressed her thoughts to media, “From the beginning, I had planned to get married. However, Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 came around but I had to go back to my previous choice, and both of us are art workers, so I have determined to make a sacrifice for him. But I accept I want to have a happy family and support him have a good foundation to go long way in the field of art.”
Le Thi Ngoc Ut had to leave the competition to go for medical treatment. Her health was continuously not doing well and she expressed the same, “Health is the most important thing for all of us," she wrote on her social media channel. "I'm very upset, but ultimately I have to make this decision because I cannot really ignore my health issues."
Though Nguyen Diem Uyen’s reasons are not yet revealed but she was also absent from the official swimwear photo shoot.
Also what was not so surprising was the absence of Hoang My, runner-up of Miss Vietnam 2010 in the judges' panel. Apparently, she had given some controversial statements about the storm No. 12 in November.
What’s pertinent to note in all this is how the Miss Universe Vietnam organization has failed to mention about these withdrawals and just published the photos of 42 candidates through their social media channel. It’s the least we can expect from the organization that they inform about these changes have occurred in the Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 competition.
