At the conclusion of the finale of Miss Universe Zambia 2017 held on August 26, at Mulungushi Conference Centre, Isabel Chikoti was crowned as the winner. Isabel defeated sixteen other contestants to clinch the coveted title. She will now represent Zambia in the Miss Universe 2017 beauty pageant.
At the same event, Mercy Mukwiza and Luwi Kawanda were named first runner-up and second runner-up respectively.
26-years-old Isabela is no stranger to the pageant world. She was Miss Africa Ukraine 2013 and Miss Zambia 2016 Top 12 finalist. Zambia has yet to win the Miss Universe crown. It will now be exciting to see if Isabela gets successful in winning the crown for her country.
After seven years of absence from the Miss Universe stage, Zambia will compete again for the crown of Miss Universe this year. The last time a Zambian woman joined the pageant was Alice Rowlands Musukwa, in 2010.
