The grand finale of Miss Universe Zambia 2018 is scheduled to take place on 18th August 2018. A total of 16 contestants have been finalized for the national title. At the conclusion of the event finale, Miss Universe Zambia 2017 Isabel Chikoti will crown her successor.

The winner will also get a Masters degree scholarship and a chance to speak at the 63rd session in the UN Headquarters in New York next year.

Jila Makina

Jila is a 23-year-old student at the University of Zambia and a finalist of Miss Universe Zambia 2018. She calls herself spontaneous and loves fashion and art and an animal lover. She is into photography and enjoys reading articles.

She is an advocate of woman empowerment and wants to take up numerous projects that help women grow. She believes that women can fend for themselves if they are properly guided in life. She also wants to take up sanitation projects in rural areas because many girls are not able to go to school because of lack of proper sanitation.

Miss Universe Zambia took a hiatus from the Miss Universe stage and Zambia only returned last year to compete for the crown of Miss Universe 2017. Miss Universe Zambia 2017 Isabel Chikoti was unable to be placed in the semi-finals. The last time a Zambian woman joined the pageant, before the seven-year hiatus, was Alice Rowlands Musukwa, in 2010.
