Neely Fortune has been crowned Miss Vermont USA 2016 by reigning Miss Vermont USA, Jackie Croft, at the conclusion of the state pageant.
The coronation night took place on November 2’, 2015 at the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts in Burlington. She will now represent her state at the next edition of Miss USA 2016, to be held in July 2016 in United States.

At the same event, Karly Fereday was adjudged the first runner up, while Joanna Nagle was titled as second runner-up. In addition to announcing the winners and runners-up, two special awards were rewarded under the following categories –
Miss Congeniality - Morgan Bazyk, and
Miss Photogenic - Karly Fereday
Neely Fortune’s career objective is to achieve her Masters in Conservation Wildlife biology. Her idea is to help protect the environment and endangered mammals, so that the future generations can enjoy the mental, spiritual and health benefits of a healthy ecosystem.
She describes herself as an adventurous, determined, and courageous person.
She loves Spartan Races, adventure hiking, CrossFit, rock climbing, and her hobbies include knitting hats and scarves, and vegetable gardening.

Fortune explained her reason behind entering the pageant and said that she always intended to bring a change to her community, and this could be her platform. “I’m passionate about making a difference in the community, that’s why I do this. I’m excited to start my volunteer work, I’m equally excited to start preparing for Miss USA,” said Neely Fortune.
The contest was judged by Mike Curkov, a morning News Anchor for Local 22 & Local 44 in Burlington, VT.
