In a recent event held in Stowe, VT, November 19-20, 2016 Madison Cota aged 22, emerged as the victorious winner of the Miss Vermont USA 2017 title. The Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center served as the venue for all pageant activities. Contestants were judged in three equal categories consisting of Personal Interview; Swimsuit Round and Evening Gown Round.

Talking about Miss Cota, we can say that she is not new to pageantry. In the year 2013, she participated in the Miss Teen Vermont Teen USA 2014 and became the third runner up of the contest. Sport has been a huge part of her life; she was a three sport Varsity athlete for all four years of high school. Madison desires to be a fashion designer and stand as strong, independent women. Fitness and a healthy lifestyle are important to her because she struggled with her weight as a child. Because of this struggle, Madison has gotten involved with her all-time favourite organization, “Girls on the Run”. Madison loves reading, traveling, horse riding and doing anything that gets her adrenaline rush.

Expressing her thoughts after winning the Pageant she said, “As a resident of Vermont, I am incredibly honoured to represent the pride and glory of our wonderful state as Miss Vermont USA 2017. Through my participation in the pageants, I am overjoyed at the chance to showcase everything that living in our beautiful state means to me, and I pledge to continue to make Vermont proud.”

While talking of the life of Madison Cota, she says all her hard work and efforts has paid off so well. Madison will travel throughout Vermont making appearances and acting as ambassador of the state at a variety of charitable events, social functions and more. This is a part of the social responsibilities that are bestowed on the winner.

With not much time left for the Miss USA 2017, the state winners do not have time to relax. The event is scheduled to be held in June,2017.
