Miss Vietnam organization introduces significant changes in Miss Vietnam 2018

The organizers of Miss Vietnam released an official statement on Wednesday, 14th March 2018 where they announced the details related to the pageant. Accordingly to their statement, the pageant will take place in September this year and it will be held in Ho Chi Minh City.

With this, the castings of Vietnam's most long-standing and prestigious beauty pageant - Miss Vietnam 2018 has also started. The ladies of Vietnam can start applying for the competition.

Along with this, there are also changes that have been made in this biennial national pageant. For the very first time, the pageant will be divided into two stages and held in two localities, the first from 23rd August to 16th September in central Da Nang city, and the second from 17-22 September in Ho Chi Minh City.

The pageant's winner will receive a valuable crown and 500 million Vietnamese dongs (22,100 U.S. dollars) and represent Vietnam to compete at Miss World 2018.

Miss Vietnam is the biggest beauty pageant and the first nationwide beauty contest after the unification of Vietnam. The contest was initiated and organized by Tien Phong newspaper, called "Miss Tien Phong Newspaper", starting from 1988 and is held every two years.

The winner of Miss Vietnam last year was Do My Linh whose performance in the Miss World 2017 was good with her placement in Top 40. She also won her ‘Head-to-Head challenge’ along with the winner of ‘Beauty with a Purpose’.

This year, reigning Miss Vietnam 2016 Do My Linh will crown her successor in the month of September for the title of Miss World Vietnam 2018 with which the winner will get the chance to represent Vietnam in Miss World 2018.
