Miss World 1994 Aishwarya Rai awarded with ‘Global Indian Of the Year’ Award under 'NRI Of The Year' award, at a splendid ceremony held on April 11’ 2016.

The ceremony was organized to felicitate the efforts and contributions of NRIs to the country, and Aishwarya Rai was one of the distinguished guests to receive the award.

Donning chic and colorful maxi, the former beauty queen appeared uber hot at the ceremony. She posed for the shutterbugs holding her one-of-a-kind 'NRI Of The Year' award.

The ex-Miss World accepted her 'Global Indian of the Year' award with lots of appreciativeness and poise. She completed her look while putting minimal make-up and keeping her glossy lock loose. It was the beguiling sight to see her receive the award.

Being a beauty queen, the very graceful lady Aishwarya has always been involved in charity work around the globe, and this award honours her efforts on that front.

Aishwarya Rai spoke to the media and showed off her gratitude by saying- "I would just like to say thank you for humbling me with this felicitation. It is wonderful to be in the company of such incredible Indians who have done so well and remain connected to our roots and take pride in every vocation that they have chosen. This award took me down memory lane because that was where I was introduced. Even though it was a beauty pageant, for me it meant representing India as a young woman internationally. You all have given me such love, blessings and good wishes. You are the reason I am what I am."

The Miss World 1994, Aishwarya Rai was recently seen sizzling at the Longines Dolce Vita launch in Australia. She was dressed in an off-shoulder white tulle gown by Australian designer, Toni Maticevski, for the formal event at the Museum Of Contemporary Art. The beauty queen kept her look simple yet chic.
