Priyanka Chopra is an Indian actress, singer, and a beauty queen who represented India at Miss World 2000 and was crowned as the queen at the end of the event finale. Post her reign as Miss World 2000, Priyanka went onto become India’s highest-paid and most popular entertainers. The diva has received numerous accolades including National Film Award, Filmfare Awards, Padma Shri etc.; Time named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world and in the next two years Forbes listed her among the World's 100 Most Powerful Women.
Priyanka debuted in the Bollywood with movie, ‘The Hero: Love Story of a Spy (2003) and since then there is no looking back for the diva and her success journey is one of the most inspiring one in the industry.
Popularly known as PC also promotes social causes such as environment and women's rights, and is vocal about gender equality, the gender pay gap, and feminism. She has worked with UNICEF since 2006 and was appointed as the national and global UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for child rights in 2010 and 2016, respectively. Her namesake foundation for health and education works towards providing support to unprivileged Indian children.
The beauty queen has moved to Hollywood after she signed a talent holding deal with ABC Studios and was later cast in the American thriller series Quantico as the character Alex Parrish. The series premiered on 27th September 2015 on ABC, making Chopra the first South Asian to headline an American network drama series. The series received positive reviews from television critics and Chopra was praised for her performance. James Poniewozik of The New York Times described Chopra as the "strongest human asset" of the show, and added that "she is immediately charismatic and commanding.” The actress has a lot of projects on her way but recently the popularly known as the Desi Girl of Bollywood has signed a two-year first-look television deal with Amazon.

She’s a powerhouse producer, and we are thrilled to collaborate with her for years to come.” The people from the Studios feels collaboration with Priyanka will help them to grow their audience in India. The diva also stated that Amazon is a great partner to do that because their reach and outlook is global and her Amazon television deal is a global deal. “Priyanka’s willingness to challenge the status quo is exactly what global audiences are crying out for, and for this reason alone, she is one of the most unique talents in the landscape right now”, states Priyanka’s long-time manager Anjula Acharia.
When asked about her experience in the Hollywood, the actress stated that it wasn’t easy as it seems because she had to swallow her pride and explain the people in the industry to who she was and what she wanted to do. "There have been some incredibly prolific Indian actors that have worked in American movies and have done incredible work - like Irrfan Khan, Tabu, Anupam Kher, Amitabh Bachchan - and outside of Indian Americans like Mindy Kaling and Aziz Ansari, there was no precedent for having someone who was an Indian immigrant from outside of the American culture to come in and break global entertainment," she added.
Currently, Priyanka already has few Amazon projects she is working on. One is reality dance show Sangeet, which she is producing with her singer husband Nick Jonas. It is inspired by their own wedding sangeet and will see families of the bride and groom compete against each other for the winning trophy. Her other project includes a movie about Ma Anand Sheela, the assistant to guru Bhagwan Rajneesh (also known as Osho). The actor will be producing the movie which is based on Netflix document-series “Wild Wild Country”.
Another project is Anthony and Joe Russo’s Citadel, a spy drama in which she will star with Richard Madden of Game of Thrones and Bodyguard. As of now, Priyanka is shooting The Matrix 4 alongside Keanu Reeves, which recently resumed filming.
