Miss World 2014 is Rolene Strauss from South Africa

Finally the most awaited grand pageant, Miss World 2014 comes to an end with the crowning of the most beautiful lady amongst the one-hundred twenty one contestants competing at the event, Rolene Strauss, the reigning Miss World South Africa 2014! Megan Young from Philippines, the Miss World 2013, crowned Rolene Strauss as the new Miss World!

Rolene, 22 years of age is a medical student and aspires to be a doctor. Waving to the spectators she said "South Africa this is for you,”. After a long gap of 40 years South Africa made it to the coveted crown. The last Miss World title victory for South Africa was in the year 1974 when Anneline Kriel was crowned Miss World 1974, after the resignation of Helen Morgan from UK who was originally crowned Miss World 1974.

Miss World 2014 winner

 

At the Miss World 2014 preliminary events Rolene Strauss was giving her best, having secured Top 5 finalist place at Beach Fashion and Sports & Fitness challenge events. She was also amongst Top 10 finalists list in Beauty with a Purpose project and Top 10 people’s choice contestants.

Edina Kulcsár from Hungary finished as first runner-up and Elizabeth Safrit from United States of America secured third place.
