Stephanie Del Valle from Puerto Rico was recently crowned at the 66th edition of the Miss World pageant held on 18th December 2016 at MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland, United States, where Mireia Lalaguna Royo of Spain passed on her crown. As the new winner of Miss World 2016 graced the stage to adorn the beautiful crown, people noticed the gorgeous pink gown she wore during the final moments of the coronation.

The winner gown designed by Carlos Albert has something to it, something that not just catches attention but attracts victory. Looking at the Miss World coronation galas from the past, it had been multiple times that a candidate adorning a gown in shades of pink has won. Ivian Sarcos who won the Miss World title in 2011, Megan Young who adorned the crown in 2013, as well as gorgeous Rolene Strauss who was victorious at the Miss World 2014 finals, all wore tones of the hue.

Not just the color, the fashion designer’s work is also lucky for the contestants. Carlos Albert is the same designer who came into the limelight for designing the gown of the Miss Universe 2006, Zuleyka Rivera of Puerto Rico (what are the chances!) This year Carlos was excited to create the gown for the Puerto Rican candidate. “God gave me the best girl to represent my dream design,” said Carlos, who designed Stephanie’s gown in silk and adorned it with ruffles. Thousands of dazzling Swarovski stones complimented the color and gave it that winner look.

Whether it was the color, or the designer, this year, Puerto Rico had a double luck on its side. Stephanie Del Valle looked pretty in the victorious gown as she was announced the new titleholder of one of the most renowned international pageants in the world. Gorgeous Stephanie is all happy and excited about beginning her reign as the Miss World 2016.
