Stephanie Del Valle at Variety Iowa Telethon 2017

As reported to you earlier, Stephanie Del Valle is in Des Moines, Iowa, for the Variety International Children's Charity Telethon 2017. The beauty queen attended the event around the weekend and it was one of the most memorable nights of her life. Stephanie reveals that the telethon for Variety the Children's Charity in Iowa has done some marvellous work.

The telethon in Iowa has been going on for over 40 years and they raise millions of dollars every year to help the children of Iowa. Stephanie Del Valle along with the Miss World Organisation had the privileged to visit some of the places that used Variety dollars, such as, Mercy Hospital, Orchard Place, YESS, and Blank Children's Hospital. The Miss World Team was given the opportunity to see how these places use the money and how it benefits the lives of the children of Iowa.

The telethon started on Friday march 4th, at 7 pm and ended at 12 and then continued on Saturday from 7am to 6pm. The event involved live entertainment on the stage, interviews at the phones, and specialised bikes being donated to kids who need them at Kids Korner. After the successful completion of the event, Variety was able to raise $4,162,143 for the children of Iowa.

For the reigning Miss World, it was an incredible experience to see so many people come together in order to help the ones in need. The event was a lot of fun and was a humbling and heart warming experience. Stephanie expressed her gratitude towards the event and said, “Thank you all so much at Variety in Iowa for making this experience so memorable and for helping the lives of so many every year.”

Stephanie is a BA student majoring in communication studies at Pace University, New York. She is also a musician, and hopes to join the entertainment industry. Her independent and individualistic personality doesn’t allow her to follow to crowd. She wants to make her journey not just about herself but also about children with Down syndrome. She explains about her project, 'A Choir of Angels' which is a therapy program based on music for treatment for babies affected with the disorder.
