Miss World 2017 Group 3 Head to Head challenge took place where the queens of Belgium, Cameroon, Nepal, Guinea, Madagascar, and Chile took part with lots of zeal and confidence.

Their introductory videos and answers in the first segment of the challenge were awe-inspiring and insightful.

In the second segment anchor, Barney Walsh took the queens to a very famous carving museum where they all viewed some of the most beautiful art pieces. Contestants were seen trying their hands on carving and seemed to have a pleasing time there.

The final question and answer segment started with the question “Are we destroying our planet or is it a media myth?” by Frankie Cema, to which the answers by the queens in this group were as follows.

Victoria Stein Miss World Chile 2017 -

“I mean being in this beautiful place, it’s really unfortunate to say that it’s not a myth. Greenhouse gas emissions are a real problem today, and we are all guilty in some way even though you think you are not. One of the largest polluters in the world is the clothing industry and we all take part in that. But the good thing is that we can all be part of the solution as well. We can all do better, we can all inform ourselves, and we should demand that the companies are actually held accountable for the greenhouse gas emissions onto our world. Let’s not forget it’s our world, one thing we all share in common being humans and we’re all responsible for it, not just for us but also for the future.

Felana Tirindraza Miss World Madagascar 2017 -

“As a population, we should all avoid making an impact on climate change. Thank you.”

Asmaou Diallo Miss World Guinea 2017 -

“I think this is a reality that we are destroying our planet and this is not something that the media are talking about. I think it’s important that we realise that there is a change because of us. We are destroying our planet, this beautiful planet that we should take care of. We are causing the extinction of plants and animal species, all because of us. I think it is time we all join hands together and fight global warming. We see all these countries joining together to put strategies in place to protect our planet, but we as individuals also need to do our part for future generations. Thank you.”

Nikita Chandak Miss World Nepal 2017 answered -

“Just the way every coin has 2 sides, everything has advantages and disadvantages. We all human beings, we are being benefited by all the development and everything has become so easy with mankind’s growth of technologies. But of course there is a destruction of nature, extinction of animals, deforestation; we do not even get fresh air to breathe every time. So, yes! The planet is being destructed and the result is very much visible with the frequent natural disasters happening.”

Akomo Minkata Miss World Cameroon 2017 answered -

It is true that our community is responsible for many activities that destroy the planet, but the planet is part of us and we are part of it. God gave us the intelligence to create and invent, if we are capable of making iron to create machines which help to improve medicine, I think we are more than capable to come up with environmental solutions and the more people that help, the better it will be and although mistakes are made, solutions can be found.

Romanie Schotte Miss World Belgium 2017 answered -

I think that we are definitely destroying our planet. I will give an example; it takes 70 to 80 years for a plastic bag to be digested by nature, so I think we will be shocked if we know how much plastic is in our nature. And it is not only harmful to us, but also for animals. If we do a dissection on birds, we see that their stomach is filled with plastic. So, it’s a big problem that needs the solution.

Chile, Guinea and Cameroon’s answers stood out in this group of contestants. What’s your take on the best of the lot?
