Manushi Chhillar celebrates World Menstrual Hygiene Day

World Menstrual Hygiene Day is celebrated on 28th May 2018 every year all around the world highlight the importance of good menstrual hygiene management. Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar, whose advocacy is also about spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene, participated in a half marathon to raise awareness for the same.

It is a known fact that the Miss World beauty queen, who is also a medical student, has been giving her outstanding support to let people know that menstrual hygiene is an essential part of a woman’s life. With the theme ‘No more Limits’, the public health organizations of India organized the marathon on the World Menstrual Health Day.

 

Manushi Chhillar celebrates World Menstrual Hygiene Day

 

Manushi Chhillar met school students to interact and raise awareness about menstrual hygiene. Apart from her, Julia Morley the Chairwoman of Miss World Organization, Guinness book record holder Roop Batela and about 300 school girls walked from Connaught Place to NDMC auditorium in Delhi at 7 am.

The beautiful queen also held a quiz and discussed menstrual hygiene with the school students who gathered at the central park in Connaught Place and carried placards which read, ‘Let’s be period positive’, ‘We bleed so mankind can thrive’.

The World Menstrual Hygiene Day is a global platform that has brought together all the key development partners including United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), Water Aid, Global Citizen, and United States Agency For International Development (USAID).
