Miss World 2019 to be hosted in Philippines?

Miss World is one of the oldest pageants running taking its initiation in 1951. It is also a part of the Big 4 pageants, making it one of the most prestigious and widely followed beauty pageant around the world. 2018 was a very successful year, with the crowning of Miss World 2018 Vanessa Ponce De Leon from Mexico. The finale was held in Sanya, China with more than a hundred participant from all over the world competing for the crown.

Last year, it was speculated that the Philippines will be hosting the coveted pageant in their beautiful archipelagic nation. Miss World 2013 Megan Young from the very same nation has been active in the pageant circuit and had been working really hard to make this speculation into reality. Till date, she is the first and only Miss World from the Philippines, and she has proved her worth and loyalty towards the Miss World Organization through her hardworking and dedication.

Filipinos have been disappointed with the decisions of the Miss World Organization lately, considering the high expectations derived from pageant veteran Miss World Philippines 2018 Katarina Rodriguez, but her failure to secure a position amongst the Top 30 finalists. But this year, fans and followers of the Philippines are highly hopeful that with the persuasion of Megan Young in the organization will bring about a fruitful result.

When it comes to Miss Universe, the pageant is only a year younger than Miss World, and the country of Philippines has already hosted the beautiful and dazzling finale three times in the past, namely, 1974, 1994 and 2016. 2016 was also, coincidentally, the year when the reigning Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray represented the Philippines in Miss World 2016 and emerged as the 3rd runner-up at the conclusion of the finale.

There are really high hopes for the Philippines to become the next host for Miss World 2019. The nation has been very active in the pageant world, bringing out beauty queens who are hardworking and dedicated to the crown as well as beautiful inside out. Megan Young is the prime example, seeing as she has contributed so much of her time and energy to the Miss World Organization as well as her community!
