Miss World 2019 Toni-Ann Singh uses her voice to advocate for women

Toni-Ann Singh was crowned Miss World 2019 on 14th December 2019 as she raised the Jamaican flag high and simultaneously marked the first time that black women held the titles of five of the world’s top beauty pageants. Before she was crowned Miss World 2019, the 23-year-old beauty was pursuing bachelor’s degree in women’s studies and a minor in psychology with aspirations to one day become a medical doctor.

To make an impact in the global community, Toni-Ann Singh knows she has a long way to go but she is very driven to making this dream a reality. The stunning beauty is currently living in London and traveling around the world to promote her BWAP advocacy that inspires and empowers thousands of young women to use their talents to raise awareness and funds in aid of humanitarian causes that make real and lasting tangible differences to the poor, sick and disadvantaged.

At Florida State University, before her reign began, Toni-Ann was heavily involved on campus. She started as a member of the Caribbean Students Association because her country is a big part of her identity and one of the things she really cares about.

Toni also stated that she had found her purpose in women empowerment as she quoted, “I think that in the future I would like to use this platform, and the power of it, to create some real change. Not just for the women of Jamaica, but for the women of the world. I know I have found my purpose, and I’m really happy to have found it.

The stunning Jamaican beauty has sure shown that she will prove to be a successful beauty queen as Miss World 2019.
