Miss World organization incurs major losses due to covid-19 cancellation

In an unfortunate turn of events, Miss World 2021 had to be cancelled last minute as more than twenty delegates came down with covid-19. The organization had to incur losses in millions, if reports are to be belived.

A source close to the organization quoted, “They lost … the millions in set cost to produce the pageant.” The pageant finale was initially supposed to be held on 16th December 2021 in Puerto Rico, but was cancelled just hours before showtime.

COVID wasn’t the only problem the show encountered during the week leading up to its air date. There were a few production problems as well which will be taken into account as the finale night will be held next year.

The finale has now been rescheduled to take place at the Puerto Rico Coliseum Jose Miguel Agrelot on 16th March 2022. The show’s representative said, “We are sure the event will be a huge success in March and we thank everyone for their support and understanding.”
