Olivia Yace creates history for Cote D’Ivoire at Miss World 2021

Miss World 2021, the 70th edition of Miss World, was hosted on 16th March 2022 at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where Karolina Bielawska of Poland was crowned as the new queen as she created history become the second Miss World title holder from Poland after 32 years.

Karolina’s win was not the only historic occurrence at this year;s edition as Olivia Yace’s second runner-up placement at Miss World 2021 is also the highest her country Cote D'Ivoire has ever achieved in Miss World history.

Hailing from Yamoussoukro, Olivia is a 23-year-old marketing and management major student and former runway model. She has an already existing popularity, social media following and public appearances and was also one of the favourites for the crown since the competition commenced.

Be it for her stunning personality, speaking skills or just her being the diva that she is, her journey had been incredibly impressive. Along with the top placement, she also won the Miss World Top Model 2021 title.

The diva also stood out during the national costume competition as she showcaded the story of the AKAN woman of Côte d’Ivoire, representing the beauty, femininity, and braveness embodied by the women of the ethnic group.

Olivia’s performance throughout the competition was definitely one of the most consistent and brightest. After her win, the diva took to her social media to express, “After this very encouraging result, I would first like to give glory to GOD and say THANK YOU, he who allows everything… I cannot forget all those whose contribution was invaluable throughout this wonderful experience.”

A proud and grateful Ivorian, Olivia hopes to spread love and bring about a change in the world, one step at a time.
