Miss World 2021 Top 40: Emmy Peña representing Dominican Republic

The finale of Miss World 2021, the 70th edition of Miss World, will be held on 16th March 2022 at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In a recent announcement made by the Miss World organization, Top 40 delegates were selected to enter the final leg of the competition.

In a series of features, here are the forty delegates, in no particular order, (15 from the fast-track competitions and 25 through judges’ choice) who will fly to Puerto Rico for the coronation night. Emmy Peña representing Dominican Republic has secured a spot in Top 40 by being one of the judges’ choice winners.

 

 

Emmy Peña was crowned Miss World Dominican Republic 2021 at the glistening final held at the Barceló Grand Resort on 4th September last year. Emmy hails from Duarte province and works as a professional model. She has walked at various fashion shows including Bronx and Banco S/S 20 Show, Pyer Moss S/S 20 Show and RaisaVanessa S/S 20 Show.

Emmy wishes to celebrate the diversity of people, especially those with Down Syndrome. Her mission is to educate to destroy prejudice and the myth that this condition has limits. Take a look at the Beauty with a Purpose project of Emmy Peña here –

 

 

Emmy is 24 years of age and stands 180 cm tall. Aside from her projects of social cause, Emmy also played Camila in the Spanish film “Donde Quiera Que Vayas” (Wherever You Go), which was filmed in New York and released on 24th June 2016 in the U.S.

If Emmy wins at Miss World 2021, she will hold the second Miss World crown for Dominican Republic. The first Miss World crown was won in 1982 when Mariasela Álvarez was crowned Miss World. The last time Dominican Republic placed in the Top was when Yaritza Reyes won first runner-up in 2016.
