Miss World 2021 Top 40: Hugrún Birta Egilsdóttir representing Iceland

The finale of Miss World 2021, the 70th edition of Miss World, will be held on 16th March 2022 at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In a recent announcement made by the Miss World organization, Top 40 delegates were selected to enter the final leg of the competition.

In a series of features, here are the forty delegates, in no particular order, (15 from the fast-track competitions and 25 through judges’ choice) who will fly to Puerto Rico for the coronation night. Hugrún Birta Egilsdóttir representing Iceland has secured a spot in Top 40 by being one of the judges’ choice winners.

 

 

Hugrún Birta Egilsdóttir is 26 years of age and stands 176 cm tall. She is currently a Marketing Student as well as working as a make-up artist. Hugrun is also a certified trainer in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

She is also a spokesperson at ‘Reykjavík Maternity Support Committee’, an organization that works to support women and mothers in the low-income group, by funding their education and helping them achieve their dreams.

This beauty queen is no stranger to the world of pageantry as she previously represented ‘the land of fire and ice’, i.e., Iceland at Miss Supranational 2019, where she made it to the Top 25 finalists and won the Miss Supranational Supramodel of Europe 2019 award.

 

 

Iceland holds a strong track record as it holds 3 Miss World crowns; Hólmfríður Karlsdóttir was crowned Miss World 1985, Linda Pétursdóttir was crowned Miss World 1988 and Unnur Vilhjálmsdóttir was crowned Miss World 2005.
